Lagos - It can be revealed that Nigeria youth international Kelechi Iheanacho would have been a player of Stoke City instead of Manchester City.
The Flying Eagles attacking midfielder also received two concrete offers from Hamburg and Porto after displaying his wares at the 2013 Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
But according to the intermediary that represented the three European clubs during negotiations, Tony Udemagwuna, the teams pulled the plug on the deal after he discovered that Kelechi's dad, James Iheanacho, had signed mandates with different agents.

''Stoke City, Porto and Hamburg wanted Kelechi Iheanacho and offered him a contract,'' said Tony Udemagwuna to news24.
''I was told that Kelechi's father had given six different people mandates to transfer the player so they called off negotiations.''
Apart from the interest from England and Germany, the Taye was heavily courted by PAOK, Sporting Lisbon, Udinese, Monaco and Chelsea before sealing his move to the Etihad Stadium.
Kelechi Iheanacho played a minor role at the recently concluded Fifa Under 20 World Cup, featuring in games against Brazil and Hungary before Nigeria crashed out of the tournament.
