Balotelli left out of Liverpool squad - ESPN

Mario Balotelli has been reportedly left out of Liverpool squad on a pre-season trip to Finland.
The decision affirms speculations that the club are keen on his sale as Manager Brendan Rodgers looks to clear his team of fringe players.
Liverpool had already indicated that they were prepared to listen to offers for Balotelli, who has attracted confirmed
interest from Sampdoria and Bologna, as well as being linked with their Serie A rivals Lazio.
Balotelli was also omitted from the squad for their recent tour of the Far East and Australia.
The Italian striker is only 11 months into the three-year deal he signed when joining Liverpool from AC Milan for £16m last August.

He scored four goals last season and frustrated Rodgers with a series of disappointing performances.

Honda score

Keisuke Honda has promised fans of his club, AC Milan to expect more from him next season as he is committed to deliver consistently.
Honda expressed his satisfaction over the number 10 role he played in the friendly against Madrid while also relishing the start of the new season.
"I want to live up to the expectations of the fans for this season and I am sure that everything will go well.
"But I want to please our fans. I promise the fans that I will do my best for them and for Milan."
"The position in which I played in tonight is perfect for me," he told Milan Channel . "I played there for 10 years.

The Japan international joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer from CSKA Moscow in January 2014 but has thus
far failed to produce his very best form on a consistent basis, netting eight times in 46 matches in all competitions.

Van Gaal I'm calling it quit in 2017

Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal have revealed that he is set to retire in 2017 in order to keep a vow he made to his wife.
The 63year old manager insisted that no amount of money will make him go back on his word.
"I will give it up [in 2017]," the United manager told reporters. "I promised that to my wife. We have not many
years together any more. That is the reason.
"I have to admit I have said to her, when I met her and after our relationship seemed to be very good, that at 55 I shall
quit. I am still working and next week I am 64."
"I have done everything in my career as a manager," Van Gaal added. "I have been in the Netherlands, my home country, in Spain, which is a fantastic league, and Germany is also a fantastic league.
"I participated in the World Cup. The only wish was the Premier League. Now I am here.
"Do I have to go to Qatar to earn still more money? I don't think so. You have to enjoy also your life and your relationship with your wife."

Van Gaal has won league titles with Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and AZ Alkmaar, and won the Champions League
with Ajax as well as helping Netherlands to third place at the 2014 World Cup.

Manuel Pellegrini, making just 28 Premier League appearances in his two seasons at the Etihad Stadium.

Having hammered Lyon 6-0 24 hours earlier, Arsenal were favourites to win their own friendly competition.

World Cup qualifying draw: Spain land Italy in group stages

The draw for the preliminary stages of the 2018 World Cup has been taken and some interesting fixtures have expectedly stemmed out.
France landed Netherlands while Spain have been placed in the same group with Italy. England also find themselves in the same group with Scotland.
Germany will start defending their World Cup title in a six-team UEFA pool where the Czech Republic seems the biggest barrier to advancing as group winners.
Perhaps the toughest European group puts the Netherlands with France and Sweden, whose star forward Zlatan
Ibrahimovic has perhaps his last chance to play again on football's biggest stage.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal got a more favourable draw with Switzerland their highest-ranked rival.
Opening the draw, FIFA paired four continents whose teams take part in two-leg playoffs in November 2017 that will
complete the World Cup lineup. A CONCACAF team will face an Asian team, and Oceania's best will play a South American team.

A total of 141 of FIFA's 209 member federations were involved in the draw, including top-ranked Argentina, joint
No. 207-ranked Djibouti and Cook Islands, plus South Sudan on their World Cup debut.

NASA finds 'Earth's bigger, older cousin

The planet is the most Earth-like yet found in the habitable zone of a star like ours
It's about 60% larger than our own planet and "almost certainly has an atmosphere"
(CNN)— NASA said Thursday that its Kepler spacecraft has spotted "Earth's bigger, older cousin": the first nearly Earth-size planet to be found in the habitable zone of a star similar to our own.
Though NASA can't say for sure whether the planet is rocky like ours or has water and air, it's the closest match yet found.
"Today, Earth is a little less lonely," Kepler researcher Jon Jenkins said.
The planet, Kepler-452b, is about 1,400 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus. It's about 6Adve than Earth, NASA says, and is located in its star's habitable zone -- the region where life-sustaining liquid water is possible on the surface of a planet.
A visitor there would experience gravity about twice that of Earth's, and planetary scientists say the odds of it having a rocky surface are "better than even."
While it's a bit farther from its star than Earth is from the sun, its star is brighter, so the planet gets about the same amount of energy from its star as Earth does from the sun. And that sunlight would be very similar to Earth's, Jenkins said.
The planet "almost certainly has an atmosphere," Jenkins said, although scientists can't say what it's made of. But if the assumptions of planetary geologists are correct, he said, Kepler-452b's atmosphere would probably be thicker than Earth's, and it would have active volcanoes.
It takes 385 days for the planet to orbit its star, very similar to Earth's 365-day year, NASA said. And because it's spent so long orbiting in this zone -- 6 billion years -- it's had plenty of time to brew life, Jenkins said.
"That's substantial opportunity for life to arise, should all the necessary ingredients and conditions for life exist on this planet," he said in a statement.
Before the discovery of this planet, one called Kepler-186f was considered the most Earthlike,
according to NASA . That planet, no more than a 10th bigger than Earth, is about 500 light-years away from us. But it gets only about a third of the energy from its star as Earth does from the sun, and noon there would look similar to the evening sky here, NASA says.
The $600 million Kepler mission launched in 2009 with a goal to survey a portion of the Milky Way for habitable planets.
From a vantage point 64 million miles from Earth, it scans the light from distant stars, looking for almost imperceptible drops in a star's brightness, suggesting a planet has passed in front of it.
It has discovered more than 1,000 planets. Twelve of those, including Kepler-425b, have been less than twice the size of Earth and in the habitable zones of the stars they orbit.
Missions are being readied to move scientists closer to the goal of finding yet more planets and cataloging their atmospheres and other characteristics.
In 2017, NASA plans to launch a planet-hunting satellite called TESS that will be able to provide scientists with more detail on the size, mass and atmospheres of planets circling distant stars.
The next year, the James Webb Space Telescope will go up. That platform, NASA says, will provide astonishing insights into other worlds, including their color, seasonal differences, weather and even the potential presence of vegetation.

Sergio Ramos,Real Madrid

Real Madrid's manager, Rafael Benitez has affirmed that Sergio Ramos will not be leaving the club.
Ramos has been linked heavily to other clubs over a reported fallout with Real Madrid on wage increment.
The former Liverpool manager said football was a "curious world" and he had "a lot of respect" for United counterpart
Louis van Gaal.
But asked if he was sure Ramos would stay, the Spaniard said: "For me, 100%.
"I insist that it is clear for me and the club, Sergio will be here. He's a key player for us."
Ramos, capped 128 times, has made 445 appearances for Real since joining from Sevilla in 2005.

He is part of the Real squad preparing to face Manchester City in a friendly in Australia on Saturday.

De Bruyne is not for sale.

Wolfsburg sporting director, Klaus Allofs has stated strongly that midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is not for sale.
It is widely reported that Manchester City have been eyeing the star midfielder and are ready to table a heavy bid to secure his signature.
But Allofs said it makes "no sense" to talk about whether those sums would be enough because the club had still not
received any offers.
"We don't have a game plan for 'what would happen if,'" he told German TV channel Sport 1.
"If someone comes with that much money... it's not happened yet so we don't need to think about it.
"But Kevin is also categorised as not for sale. I think he played a decisive role for our team last year. When you have the sporting ambition that we have, it should be forbidden to let him go."

De Bruyne was voted the Bundesliga's outfield player of the year last season, scoring 10 goals and creating 20 more as
Wolfsburg finished runners-up to Bayern Munich.
Unveiled-Mothers of Obasanjo's 21 children ....

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has 21 children and though he  listed the names in his recent controversial book, My Watch, he did not mention their mothers.

However findings by ENCOMIUM Weekly  revealed the mothers of these children and other women that had dalliances with the two-time president of the country.

The mothers of the children include…

MRS. OLUREMI OBASANJO, his first wife, who he married on Saturday, June 22, 1963, at Camberwell Green Registry, South East London.  She was just 21.  Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo is the mother of six of the 21 children of the former president.
They are Senator Iyabo Obasanjo,  Busola Obasanjo, ; Olusegun Obasanjo, the first son, ; Olugbenga Obasanjo,  Enitan Obasanjo, and Damilola Obasanjo, the last of the woman’s children who was born in 1982.

MRS. STELLA OBASANJO, the late former First Lady died on Sunday, October 23, 2005, in Spain after a failed tummy tuck surgery.  She had only a child, Olumuyiwa Obasanjo, who was born in 1977, for the former president.

GOLD ORUH, a former director at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), who met the former president as a reporter during the civil war in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She had two children for him.  Her children are Funke and Seun Obasanjo.

MRS. TAIWO OBASANJO, is the twin sister of Mr. Kenny Martins, the politician and former Chairman of Police Equipment Fund.  She also has two children for the former president.  One of her children is Esther Olubunmi Obasanjo who got married in August 2010.
Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo has since reverted to her maiden name, Martins.  Since her secret dalliance with late Godwin Daboh became public knowledge, the former president distanced himself from her.

Late MRS. LYNDA OBASANJO, nee Soares, was another woman who had children for Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.  She was said to have had two children for him before she was killed on February 14, 1987, in daylight by armed robbers.  She was 45.  We really don’t know the names of her two children among the 21 children.  Her cousin, Priscilla Soares was later made MD, Nicon by Obasanjo.
MRS. MABEL OKOSODE OBASANJO is another woman who has children for the former army general.  We, however, don’t know how many children she has for him and their names.
MRS. TITILAYO OBASANJO, is another woman who has a child or children for the old man.

COL. ADEBOYE OBASANJO, mother’s name is not known. But according to Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo in her book, Bitter Sweet My Life with Obasanjo, she is a mother of two and a divorcee brought to the former general by one of his aunts who lives in Arigbajo, Ogun State, when she (Remi) was chased out of their Ikoyi (Lagos) matrimonial home for challenging his (Obasanjo) philandering.

KOFOWOROLA MOJISOLA OBASANJO, who got married to Peter Kenneth Blackshire, a British Baptist minister in 2002, shares the same mother with Tunde Baiyewu, the British singer of Nigerian descent.  Tunde Baiyewu’s mother lost her husband and relocated to Nigeria with her two children.  She met Obasanjo who was still an officer in the army.  Their dalliance produced Kofo Obasanjo.

MRS. BOLA OBASANJO, is the woman that is presently living with Chief Obasanjo.  She also has a child for him called Funsho Obasanjo.  The woman was formerly based in London, but had to relocate to Nigeria to be his resident wife.
There are other women in Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s life though they did not have children for him.

HIS OTHER WOMEN
MRS. MOWO SOFOWORA, a lace fabric merchant and a married woman started dating him as far back as 1973, when Obasanjo was a Lt. Col. in the army.
Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo mentioned Mrs. Mowo Sofowora as one of the women who caused problems in her marriage.  She was said to be older than Obasanjo.

MRS. LABO SALAKO, the wife of late Captain Salako, who died in 1972, at Argungu in a motor accident.  Late Captain Salako was Obasanjo’s mate in London.  After the death of her husband, she moved in with the Obasanjos at their Ikoyi (Lagos) residence on the advice of Obasanjo and the wife, Remi, acquiesced with her husband.  But before the wife knew what was going on, Labo was already having a rollicking affair with her husband.
To make matters worse, she wrote Obasanjo a letter in which she advised him to divorce his wife, Remi.  Remi got hold of the letter and made several photocopies and sent them to friends and relations.  This was what led to Remi’s departure from her matrimonial home for several months.  The story is in Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo’s book, Bitter-Sweet.

MRS. LAMIDE ADEGBENRO is the wife of Chief Niyi Adegbenro, the former Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State and a kinsman of Chief Obasanjo.
Lamide Adegbenro, who should be in her 60s now was also mentioned by Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo in her book as one of the many mistresses of her husband.
Former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku also mentioned her during his face-off with Obasanjo that she got a gift of a brand new Peugeot 607 and $110,000 that was paid into her NATWEST Bank, UK account in 2003, by Otunba Fasawe.

MRS. ALO, a former Vice Principal of Queens College, Yaba, Lagos, was also alleged to be a mistress of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Mrs. Alo was the Vice Principal of Queens College when Iyabo Obasanjo was a student there.  So, the day Iyabo saw her in a swimming trunk at her father’s swimming pool in Ota Farm, Ogun State, she nearly assaulted her if not for her mother’s intervention.
Mrs. Alo, we gathered is still very close to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as she is a member of the board of directors of Obasanjo’s school, The Bells.

THE PRINCESS, A princess of Lagos, who is a lover of white apparels was also said to have been romantically involved with the former president immediately after the death of late First Lady, Mrs. Stella Obasanjo.
In fact, the rumour mill had it that she virtually took over the president’s private life when the First Lady died and was positioning herself as the former president’s wife before one of the children, Funke openly told her she was not welcomed in the family.
It was in order to wave off the influence of the princess in their father’s life that the children came together to impress on him to marry another woman.
It was this pressure that brought about Mama Funsho, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo relocating from London to Nigeria as his official wife....

China to provide $10m for Nepal’s reconstruction

In a bid to help quake-stricken country in its reconstruction process, China agreed to provide cash assistance of 10 million US dollars to Nepal under the Post- Disaster Reconstruction Aid Project Plan on Thursday.

Baby murdered in Shanghai

Shanghai detains two for murdering baby with cleft lip

Police in Shanghai have detained two people suspected of murdering an infant with cleft lip, including a doctor and the toddler’s grandfather, authorities said Thursday.
Doctors with the No. 2 People’s Hospital in Chongming County alerted police last Friday when they found the baby boy dead during a night inspection. The baby had been born only two days earlier.
Initial investigations show that the baby’s grandfather had obtained potassium chloride from an obstetrics doctor with the hospital and injected the chemical compound into the baby’s head, local police said.
Potassium chloride is usually used to treat potassium deficiency. Direct injection can cause cardiac arrest.
Further investigation is under way.
Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common congenital birth defects, with about one in every 1,000 children born in China affected by the condition.
In China, the average cost of corrective surgery for cleft palate can be as much as 10,000 yuan (1,633 U.S. dollars). With an incomplete medical assistance system and millions of people struggling under the country’s poverty line, some parents have killed or abandoned babies with birth defects.
In May, doctors saved a baby with cleft palate found alive in the wild in Tiandong County in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, ten days after he was abandoned by family members.

Air strike kills Al-Qaeda leader in Syria – US

A US-led coalition air strike earlier this month killed the leader of an Al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria that American officials accuse of plotting attacks against the United States and its allies, the Pentagon said.
Muhsin al-Fadhli was killed in a “kinetic strike” on July 8 while traveling in a vehicle near the northwestern Syrian town of Sarmada, said Captain Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman.
He did not confirm whether a drone or a manned aircraft had killed Fadhli, 34.
Fadhli was allegedly the leader of the Khorasan Group, a group of senior Al-Qaeda members who have traveled from Central Asia and elsewhere in the Middle East to Syria to plot attacks on the West.
The Kuwaiti-born militant was so trusted by the inner circle of late Al-Qaeda supreme leader Osama bin Laden that he was among the few who knew in advance about the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, according to US intelligence.
“His death will degrade and disrupt ongoing external operations of Al-Qaeda against the United States and its allies and partners,” said Davis, who heads the Defense Department’s press operations.
Counterterrorism expert Bruce Riedel, however, a former CIA analyst, called Fadhli’s death a “serious but not fatal” blow to Al-Qaeda in Syria.
Davis said Fadhli was also involved in October 2002 attacks against US Marines on Kuwait’s Failaka Island and on the MV Limburg, a French oil tanker.
He was reported to have been previously targeted in a US air strike in September, but his death was not confirmed by US officials at the time.

Police arrest 12 teenage suspects over lesbianism in Lagos

file photo
Hell was let loose, last week, in Oto-Owori area, Ijanikin, Lagos State, after a 16-year-old member of the famous Abogun family, made startling confessions about how she was initiated into cultism and lesbianism by the younger sister of her uncle’s wife. Parents of the victim who were shocked by the confession reportedly alerted the police after she was caught while attempting to sneak out of the house with some items demanded by her cult members.

According to the victim (names withheld), who completed her secondary education in June,
“it was Tope who introduced me into lesbianism and cultism early last year. On Friday, at about 7-8pm, I received a call from Tope that I should bring my red jacket, which is the cult uniform and a jack-knife for her.
While I was attempting to sneak out of the house to meet her, I was accosted by my brothers who checked the bag I was carrying and found the cult jacket and the jack-knife. They called on my parents who demanded to know how I got those items.
“Initially, she forced me into becoming her lesbian partner. She threatened me that if I failed to do it, my life was at stake. When I became her lover, we took a blood oath as Tope used a blade to cut my hand and licked the blood. She also cut her hand and asked me to lick the blood. She threatened that she must not see me with anyone, whether male or female but she was free to go out with others as she has other lovers. I have been her lover for over a year now and I became her lover before I completed my secondary education.
“After Tope introduced me to lesbianism, she forced me into their cult. The night I was initiated into Aiye cult, I was blindfolded. Members of the cult gave me a gun to take an oath, declaring that I would not reveal anything about the cult to anyone. They said if I ever revealed anything about the cult to anyone, the same gun that I used to take the oath would be used to take my life. Thereafter, about twenty of the males present at the initiation slept with me one after the other.
“Two months ago, I stole my father’s N50, 000 and gave to her. There was a time she gave me a gun to keep for her. I kept the gun in my book-shelf two days. She gave the gun to me because she said she couldn’t take it home. Later, she collected it and gave it to a member of the cult. I really don’t know what they use the weapon for. The red jacket which is the cult uniform was given to me by Segun. He is the leader of the Aiye cult. Since I became a member, I haven’t been able to go anywhere with them because of how difficult it is for me to leave home as my parents don’t allow me out after 6pm, and most of their activities are usually in the night. There was a time they asked me to trail my elder brother because they said he is arrogant.”
In her defence, 18-year-old Tope (surname withheld) who initially confessed that she gave the gun to Kemi to keep because she could not take it home, later denied the allegation that she is a cultist.

According to her, “I have known Kemi from my childhood. I am a salesgirl. I was arrested because the victim said I introduced her into cultism and lesbianism but I am not a cultist, and she didn’t give me money.

“I have not seen Kemi for more than a month now, since my birthday which I celebrated on June 21. Although they fired a gun at my birthday party, I don’t know who fired the gunshot but Samuel was with a gun that night, and I know that Samuel is a cultist and he attended my birthday party. It was a cult guy called Daddy that threatened that if I refuse to join their cult, he will deal with me and shoot me in the legs with a gun.”
Crime Alert gathered that young girls were recruited into the cult group as they are used as armourers who keep the ammunitions for them any time they go for operation. It was learned that based on the revelations, the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Ijanikin Division of Lagos State, SP Robinson Eregare, swung into action and succeeded in clamping down on all the suspected cultists connected with the victim’s initiation. Among those arrested were Musa Kareem, Austine Ebosoje and ten others.

Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu said Temitope Famati, an 18-year-old lesbian, Ogunsan Kemi , another 20-year-old lesbian, Oseni Lukman, 30; Chidi Okafor, 25; Musa Kareem, 26; Austine Ebozoje, a 19- year-old pirate, Segun Sowumi, Olatokunbo Babatunde, 18; Gbelebu Samuel, 17 and Hussan Azeez, 30, were among the cultists arrested so far.
