BREAST-FED CHILDREN HAVE A LOWER RISK OF LEUKEMIA

Children who were breast-fed for at least six months as a baby may have a slightly lower risk of childhood leukemia than those who were not breast-fed, according to a new analysis of previous research. In a review of 18 studies, researchers found that babies who were breast-fed for six months or longer had a 19 percent lower risk of childhood leukemia, compared with those who had not been breast-fed at all or those who were breast-fed for shorter periods of time. In a separate analysis of 15 of the studies, the investigators found that children who were breast-fed for any period of time were 11 percent less likely to develop leukemia than those who were never breast-fed. Even though childhood leukemia is quite rare, the incidence rate increases each year.

However, little is known about what may cause it. The 18 studies that were included in the review involved a total of more than 10,000 leukemia cases and 17,500 children who did not have leukemia. The studies were published from 1960 to 2014 in peer-reviewed journals.

While childhood leukemia overall is a rare disease, it is still the most common type of childhood cancer, and accounts for almost one in three cancers in children and teens, these analytics were according to the American Cancer Society. The researchers looked at both acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children. About 85 percent of children with ALL survive the disease, whereas about 60 to 70 percent of children with AML survive.

The findings add to the body of research conducted over the past 20 years that indicates that there is a strong association between infant nutrition and leukemia. The exact mechanism behind the link between being breast-fed and the lower risk of childhood leukemia is not clear, but the researchers proposed some ideas. Breast milk is a live substance. It contains antibodies made by the mother that promote a healthy community of gut bacteria in the intestines of the infant and influence the development of the child's immune system.

Another possible mechanism that could explain the link is that breast-feeding may keep the pH levels in an infant's stomach in a range that promotes the production of a beneficial protein complex called HAMLET, HAMLET may have the ability to kill cancer cells. Breast milk also contains stem cells that have some properties similar to those of human embryonic stem cells, which may also activate the immune system to fight cancer.

Nicki Minaj's Ex - I used to live in an $8m house but money can't buy happiness

Nicki Minaj's ex Safaree Samuels has taken a swipe at the star saying money can't buy happiness. He says though he loved in an 8 million dollar house and had access to cars and bikes, he is happier now. He wrote
This msg is for ppl who think that money can buy happiness. I lived in a 8 million dollar house had every car watch and bike i could've ever dreamed of. I have less now and i am 100 times happier now than I was back then. You learn ppls true colors when they have nothing to gain by being your friend. What really maTters more than anything is love family and God. If all I have is a place to lay my head a way to get around and food to eat im more than good with that. Alot of ppl do things to see the response of ppl who dont matter in their daily life. Dont let the chase for money consume your well being. I thank god for every obstacle thrown at me. Salute any artist that can actually articulate themselves to speak smart and influence ppl who hold on to every word they say in the right way and if you cant do that read a thesaurus and learn 1 word a day. It helps. 📖 I live by that. *

Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri: "We do not acknowledge this Caliphate"

Under Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, ISIS has stolen a lot of al Qaeda's thunder in the jihadi world
In a blistering new message, the leader of al Qaeda denounces the leader of ISIS as the illegitimate leader of a phony caliphate.
Exposing a glaring hostility between the two jihadi groups, Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al Qaeda, openly attacks ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi for usurping the jihadi movement.
"We do not acknowledge this Caliphate," he says, according to a translation from SITE Intelligence posted Wednesday. "We do not see Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as one worthy of the Caliphate."
He dismisses al-Baghdadi as a pretender who declared himself caliph with the support of only "a few unknown people," and established ISIS, which calls itself the Islamic State, "by force and with explosions and car bombs," instead of by "the choice of the people" through "approval and consultation."
He also faults al-Baghdadi for failing to support Muslims who are not in the Islamic State's territory.
"When Gaza was burning beneath Israeli bombs, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi did not support it with one word, but his main concern was that all the mujahideen pledge allegiance to him, after he assigned himself to be the Caliph without consulting them."
And he accuses al-Baghdadi of sedition, for encouraging al Qaeda followers to abandon their pledges, and instead promise their loyalty to ISIS.
"It's a major broadside against the Islamic State," says former State Department counterterrorism adviser William McCants, who is now with the Brookings Institution. "Zawahiri is clearly very angry and frustrated that the Islamic State has been attacking him, attacking his soldiers on the ground, attacking him personally."
Georgetown University's Nicholas Palarino says al-Baghdadi is stealing his thunder, and al-Zawahiri feels threatened. "You can compare it to two drug gangs, or two mafia mobs. One is encroaching on the other's territory."
The two groups have competing strategies, he says, and right now ISIS is more popular with extremists. "There is a generational split. Zawahiri and al Qaeda are more plotting, planning and patient, whereas Baghdadi is demonstrating results."
But one U.S. official cautions that it is not necessarily good news for the United States that two of America's enemies are pitted against each other. Instead, their rivalry may spur them on to outdo one other.
"You have a competition going on that I think is dangerous for the United States," says Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. "I worry that they're going to up the ante."
It is unclear when the recording was made. But despite his tirade, al-Zawahiri does leave open the possibility of working with ISIS to fight their common enemies.
"Were I in Iraq or in Sham [Syria], I would cooperate with them in fighting the Crusaders," he says.
But one counterterrorism official tells us that while he would not rule out some cooperation between the groups, the distrust and enmity between the two leaders make unlikely a full reconciliation that could heighten the threat against the United States.

Evil in the mosquw as 107 dead after crane crashed through Mecca's Grand Mosque (Photos)

A tragic incident has left atleast 87 and over 184 injured when a crane crashed through the ceiling of the Grand Mosque of Mecca .
Pictures circulating on social media showed bloodied bodies strewn across the floor where the crane came burst through the building.

The tragic incident in Saudi Arabia occurred shortly before the 6:30pm Friday evening prayer session
The Grand Mosque, or Great Mosque of Mecca, is the biggest mosque in the world and surrounds Islam's holiest place, the Kaaba, in the city of Mecca.

The mosque is usually at its most crowded on Fridays as it is the Muslim weekly day of prayer, when Muslims face in the direction of the Kaaba while performing their obligatory daily prayers.

Authorities believe it may not be unconnected with the severe storms and lightening which struck the crane moments before it came crashing through the building .

To get Ronaldo, PSG have to pay £1Billion - Florentino Perez

Real Madrid have no intention of selling Cristiano Ronaldo for anything less than his €1 billion buyout clause, according to club president Florentino Perez.
Ronaldo, 30, has been a reported target of Paris Saint- Germain in recent months, with El Mundo Deportivo reporting earlier this week that Madrid rejected a €150m bid from the French champions this summer for the Portugal captain.
Asked about PSG's interest in Ronaldo, Perez said in an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: "Here in
Spain everybody has it easy because, unlike in England, a release clause exists. If you want to sign a player you pay
his buyout clause and get him.
"In the case of Cristiano it's €1,000m [£725m]. If they don't pay that, they don't want him. Whenever I've wanted a player, I've gone for him paying the release clause."
Ronaldo has three years left on his contract at the Bernabeu, and Perez says a Madrid team without the forward is out of the question.
"It's just impossible," he said. "He is our most emblematic player, the best player in the world. It doesn't enter our mind to sell him.

"Of course I like [Barcelona's Lionel] Messi, but I prefer Cristiano Ronaldo a lot more."

ALL HAIL QUEEN ELIZABETH II! SHE IS THE LONGEST REIGNING BRITISH MONARCH OF ALL TIME

Today, she is the longest reigning monarch in British history, and that's kind of a big deal. We'd think there would celebrations aplenty in England to mark the 63-year occasion in the making, but her majesty has reportedly banned any grand fêtes from taking place. The landmark moment will still be a happy one for Queen Elizabeth, however, with Prince William, Kate Middleton and their royal little ones Prince George and Princess Charlotte making their annual visit to the monarch at Balmoral, her Scottish home, sometime this month.

And the queen, who celebrated her 89th birthday in April, appears sharper than ever in her continuous parade of pastel skirt suits, chic sheath dresses and, of course, matching hats in all shapes and sizes.

Nigeria's oldest school pupil dies at 94(Photo)

A man believed to be the oldest school pupil in Nigeria has died at the age of 94, his family says.
Mohammud Modibbo was unable to go to school as a child because he worked as a trader, travelling around the country.
BBC reports that, he decided to enter primary school in his mid-80s and had recently begun secondary school in the northern city of Kano. His teacher, Abdulkarim Ibrahim, said Mr Modibbo was "easy-going and jovial".
"During classes, he was very attentive and asked questions when he didn't understand - either asking the teacher or a student sitting beside him," Mr Ibrahim told the BBC Hausa service.
Mr Modibbo had dreamed of pursing a university education, but his "sudden death" had robbed him of that chance, the teacher added.
Initial reports put his age at 83, but his family says he was 94.
Mr Modibbo was an Islamic scholar who sat in school alongside pupils young enough to be his great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren...
According to the Guinness Book of World Records the oldest person ever to have enrolled at primary school, was Kenyan Kimani Maruge at the age of 84.
He passed away five years later.

Group of Manchester United players confront LVG over rigid training
LOLADEVILLE / 7 hours ago
A group of Manchester United players confronted manager Louis van Gaal over his training methods earlier this season, according to reports.
The Times and The Sun both reported on Thursday that the players concerned believe Van Gaal's approach to training
is too "rigid" and does not allow them to "express" themselves enough.
The Times said that, after dressing-room talks, senior figures had approached the Dutchman several weeks ago "to raise complaints about a lack of creativity" and to express their concern that "training orders have become so inflexible that they are hampering performances."
The Daily Telegraph later reported that United's senior players have been angry over the treatment of Brazilian defender Rafael da Silva and the over-reliance on video analyst Max Reckers to lead lengthy feedback sessions.
The Sun also reported that there has been "some disquiet behind the scenes" over the handling of the David De Gea
situation, with the Spain goalkeeper not selected so far this season and then denied a move to Real Madrid over a
paperwork delay.

Despite those apparent concerns, De Gea has said he is happy to return to Old Trafford after international duty and
is hoping to win back his place in the side ahead of Saturday's meeting with Liverpool.
I advised Victor Moses to leave Chelsea - Sunday Oliseh
LOLADEVILLE / 11 hours ago

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has revealed that he advised Victor Moses to leave Chelsea for a club where he will get regular playing chances.‎ Moses joined West Ham United on a season-long loan deal on May 31.

"I spoke to Victor Moses. I told him that he played so many games for Stoke City last season. I also told him that with the many players Mourinho was buying in the summer, I was not sure (Moses) would get to play verymuch.

"I told him I needed a Moses that was playing matches regularly
at club level. Moses then told me that he would do anything to play for Nigeria and informed me that he would be speaking to his manager the next day. As we all know, Moses is now with West Ham where he is virtually guaranteed regular football week in week out,"

He continued,  "A fit Victor Moses would have done us a world of good (in that game against Tanzania). The moment he returns to fitness, I will call him up to the
national team because we need him as we need the best to play
for us.

He also stressed that ‎players who are not playing regularly at their clubs will not becalled up because it will be difficult to ascertain the level of their fitness.

"It will also be unfair to keep those who play regularly for their
clubs on the bench and play those who are not simply because
they play for some big club." He concluded.
Man 'kills his 3-yr old son by shutting him in a washing machine and turning it on(Photo)
Miss Petite Nigeria / 1 days ago

A father allegedly killed his three-year-old son by putting him in a washing machine and turning it on, a French court heard today.

Christophe Champenois, 37, allegedly sought to punish his son Bastien for 'behaving badly at school',

Bastien's mother Charlotte Cotte, 29, is charged with collusion and appeared alongside Champenois
She maintained this version throughout the investigation, and Cotte has previously said she saw Champenois put Bastien in the washing machine and turn it on.

Cotte told investigators she was doing a puzzle with her daughter and Champenois was surfing on the internet while their son screamed inside the tumbling machine. She said that when her ex-husband removed Bastien from the washing machine and noticed he was no longer breathing he said:'At least he won't bother us anymore.'

However, in an interview with Le Parisien published Tuesday, Cotte said she had tried to save her son and that Champenois had pushed her away from the washing machine.

A neighbour who came to the apartment to help described Bastien as 'frozen, completely naked. He was all white, limp, practically like a toy.'
Cotte
Cotte was initially charged with failing to prevent a crime, but this was changed to 'aiding and abetting murder and violence.'She again denied any complicity in the crime in court on Tuesday.

Her lawyer Gerard Zbili described her as a 'broken woman who lost the child that she loved' but who was unable to protect him out of fear of her husband.

Zbili added that Cotte had been regularly beaten by Champenois and claimed she had never taken part in punishments inflicted on Bastien.
